Bags were packed.
Reservations were made.
Hopes were high.
And then the skin on my hands swelled with fluid.
And cracked and bled and burned.
I couldn't cover it up.
I couldn't roll my suitcase.
I couldn't even hold your hand.
My old thoughts told me that I didn't belong here.
I'm not built for travel or exploring or comfort.
But then I just decided that this is hard.
And...I'm still allowed to be here.
